Cedar Springs Road during Pride in Dallas

Oak Lawn · Cedar Springs · Dallas

This is the Strip.

Oak Lawn is the historic LGBTQ+ neighborhood of Dallas, anchored by Cedar Springs Road, the Strip. Here is how to get here, what to expect, and where to stay within walking distance of the parade route.

Getting to the Strip

DART Light Rail

Red, Blue, and Orange lines all stop at Cityplace/Uptown Station, one short walk or M-Line trolley ride from Cedar Springs. Saint Paul Station in Downtown is a second option.

DART Bus

Route 110 runs along Oak Lawn Avenue, and routes along Cedar Springs connect the Strip to Downtown and Uptown. Check DART GoPass for current schedules on parade day.

M-Line Trolley

Free heritage trolley running through Uptown to the edge of Oak Lawn. The cheapest (free!) way to connect hotels in Uptown and Downtown to the Strip.

From the Airports

From DFW: DART Orange Line to Cityplace/Uptown. From Dallas Love Field: 15-minute ride-share, or DART Bus 524 transfer to the Green Line.

Parking on Parade Day

Cedar Springs Blvd and adjacent streets close for the parade. Plan to park at Cityplace, in Uptown, or a DART Park & Ride, and walk or trolley in. Road closure maps post a week before Pride Week.

Bike & Scooter

BCycle stations throughout Uptown and Oak Lawn. Lime and Bird e-scooters all along Cedar Springs. Free bike parking in designated lots during parade day.

Know Your Rights

Pride is a protest too.

Pride is a celebration, but it is also a protest — and in Texas, that distinction matters. Know your rights before you march:

  • You have the right to assemble peacefully. Parade permits are secured for every Pride in Dallas event. Your right to be on the route, in the festival, and along the sidewalks is protected by the First Amendment.
  • If you are harassed or witness harassment, find a volunteer wearing a Pride in Dallas vest. We have a trained safety team on site at every event.
  • Know your legal support optionsLambda Legal, Equality Texas, and the ACLU of Texas all have resources for LGBTQ+ Texans.
  • Crisis linesThe Trevor Project (1-866-488-7386), Trans Lifeline (1-877-565-8860) for 24/7 hotlines including The Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, and the 988 LGBTQ+ line.
  • Parking & road closures — Cedar Springs Blvd and surrounding streets close for the parade. Check our Events page for updated closure maps a week before the event.
