This Cookie Policy is a starting point for Pride in Dallas and should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before being relied upon as a formal legal document. We keep it short because we genuinely try not to set many cookies.
Pride in Dallas is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Dallas, Texas. We try to respect your privacy by keeping our website as simple and tracker-free as possible. This page explains what (if anything) our site stores in your browser.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites can store in your browser. They are often used to remember that you’re logged in, remember preferences, or track you across sites. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which are also small pieces of data a site can save in your browser.
What We Use on prideindallas.org
Strictly Necessary
- WordPress session cookies — only set if you are logging in to the site as an administrator. A typical visitor will never see these.
- Announcement bar dismissal — when you close the small announcement bar at the top of the page, we remember your choice using your browser’s sessionStorage. This is not technically a cookie, but it behaves like one. It is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab.
Functional
We do not currently use any functional cookies.
Analytics
We do not use any analytics cookies. Our site does not run Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any similar service.
Marketing & Advertising
We do not use any marketing or advertising cookies. There is no Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads conversion tag, or retargeting pixel on this site.
Third-Party Cookies
We do not intentionally embed any third-party services that set cookies on prideindallas.org. We do load fonts from Google Fonts’ CDN, which means Google receives a request from your browser when a page loads, but Google Fonts does not set cookies on our domain.
If we later add an embed from YouTube, Vimeo, Eventbrite, or a similar service, those platforms may set their own cookies when their content appears on our page. We will update this policy when that happens.
How to Control Cookies
Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and clear site storage. Here’s where to start:
Blocking cookies may affect how some websites work, but because we use so few on our site, you should be able to browse prideindallas.org normally even with strict cookie settings.
Changes to This Policy
If we start using additional cookies or similar technologies, we will update this page and refresh the “Last Updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in our newsletter.
